​Rebecca Cornell is a watercolor & pencil

portrait artist of surrealism. Inspired by masters such

as VanGogh, Monet & Dali, her work is often

described as dream-like. Through a uniquely

cultivated construction technique, her delicately

detailed illustrations arrive serendipitously to their

own theme. These whimsical watercolor stories begin

with a splash of paint. When dry, a variety of floating

shapes and hidden vistas reveal themselves,

ultimately determining the direction that the piece

will take. Strongly influenced by music and her

surroundings, the artist details the emerging images

with graphite, ink and occasionally additional colors,

forming the finished fantasy.
